May Slant Box

I'm posting twice today because I needed to post this at the end of the month.

SLANT Box Exchange

I'm super late posting this. but Marcy from Searching for Teacher Balance sent me this adorable SLANT box.  May's theme was personalize/monogram.  Jamison partnered with C Jayne Teach.  Her shop has some adorable monogramming.  Check it out here.  Marcy got crafty with this one.  She used Sharpie paint pens to write my name on the mailbox and clipboard.  Thanks so much Marcy.  I love everything in my box,  You definitely went above and beyond, and I hope that I can return the favor.  It was so nice getting to know you through SLANT.

My sweet girl is in the background.  {This is actually the last photo taken of her}
Sadly, I had to put my little Abby, down the other day.   She was only four years old, but had complications during her last surgery.

She had the sweetest spirit and will be missed dearly. Please take a moment to love on your four-legged babies...give them extra hugs, kisses, treats, walkies, and belly rubs for me.

May Currently, Slant Box, and Ramona Recommends

I'm linking up with Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade for May Currently.

Listening: Listening to Avicii.  I love some techno/electric dance once in a while.

Loving: I just got my Slant Box in the mail yesterday from

Mrs. D's Corner

I LOVE everything!  She went above and beyond.  Here are some of the items in my box.

April's theme was Spring into a Good Book.  Mrs. D picked one of my favorites, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.  She included a sweet note and adorable bookmarks for the kiddos in my class.  They are going to love reading and coloring their bookmarks next week!

She also included these adorable earrings that she made. Here's a link to her ETSY store, The Little Coral Box.  I just adore the Autism Awareness earrings.  I'm definitely going to have to buy them!

And Mrs. D just made this awesome Teacher Lesson Planner for the 2014-2015 school year.  Click the photo to grab yours now for only $12!

And she didn't stop there.  She also got me some hand lotion, bright pens, and glitter clothespins!  Thank you so much Mrs. DeLussy.  I'm so glad I was able to get to know you better through Slant Box.  I really hope I can return the favor.  Maybe I'll be partnered with you at some point!
 Hope you're enjoying Texas!

If you're interested in doing this in May, visit Lessons With Coffee. May 3rd is the last day to sign up for the month, so hurry on over!

Thinking:  I need to finish reading The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate for Ramona Recommends' Book Club.  I'm giving away a copy of this book.  Keep scrolling down to enter.  It was on yesterday's blog post.  I started reading it and am loving it, but am really distracted by Facebook, Pinterest, Bloglovin', etc.  I'll be spending some time this weekend away from the screen.  If you're interested in joining, please visit Courtney's blog, Ramona Recommends.

BTW she just got a new Melonheadz Mini Me...  So cute!

Wanting:  I just started working out more than usual.  I have to get toned for bikini season!  So 4:45 am gym time, no bread, no sugar, and only one piece of dark chocolate a week.  I'm pretty sure I even told my husband yesterday that I'm going to do a fitness competition...haha {NEVER going to happen}!  I'm pretty much living on veggies and fish and I'd rather be eating cupcakes, ice cream, brownies, cookies, and candy bars.

Needing: I haven't had a mani since before Spring break and my nails are in need of some attention.  I'm all about white tips, but am thinking of doing something a little different soon.  Any suggestions?  I also need to do my Jamberry nails from Christi Fultz.

Surprise:  I'm going to share a surprise for my summer, but I promise to come back this weekend to do a RAK surprise!  My husband is planning our summer trip to the Dominican Republic as I blog right now!  I'm so excited for this...

Love ya, and thanks so much for visiting.
Hope you have a good night!

Sending Love Across the Nation to Teachers with a Good Book

I'm excited to have found this recently.  I've done treat bags for Halloween and Valentine's Day and absolutely love getting my package in the mail. I'm eager to do this, especially with the theme this month.  April sign up is available right now.

So, what is the theme for April?  If you read my post yesterday, you know that I LOVE to read.  So here it is, straight from Lessons with Coffee...

Spring Into a Good Book!

"Basically the idea is to pick your favorite book. This book could be adult, children's, YA or professional Get your partner a copy of it (could be used or new...You know teachers.) Then the rest of the box must match the book! For example. Say your favorite book is Harrold and the Purple Crayon. You would get that book and fill a box with loads of things that make you think of this book. Custom box of Purple Crayons, or Purple ink pens. I would put slippers in the box because he looks so cozy in his onsie. I would maybe put grape jelly beans even (As a middle school teacher it has been a LONG time since I read that book! lol). Make sense??? With spring break, spring weather and other things I wanted a theme that would be whimsey and fun. I honestly have to clap my self on the back for this one! If you do not have a blog, make sure you show your partner pictures of your room in social media or through email!"

If you're interested in participating,
head on over to Lessons with Coffee and sign up!

Can't wait to partner up with some of you each month!

And just another sweet thought...I'm going to make two boxes.  One for my partner, and one to send to a random teacher just for fun.

This adorable RAK card is from Tonya Dusold's Blog.  Check it out.  She has a ton of ideas for Random Acts of Kindness.
