To those new teachers who are discouraged, frustrated, and feeling like this isn't for you.  You have been called to serve. As Christi said, we have all had rough days, weeks, months, and even years.  But your students admire and love you.  And you may be the only one they have.  

So cherish the good times, 

treat them with respect, 

and love them as they were your own.  

As my dad always said, "Be nice to the kids, even if they aren't nice to you."  I always giggle when he says it, but it's so true.  They are precious gifts that have been placed in our care.  Their parents trust that we will encourage, inspire, engage, and love them each day.  Instead, the students teach us to be better.  They teach us the qualities of compassion, perseverance, integrity, honor, loyalty, friendship, and so much more.  I love teaching and truly believe it's my duty to work to the best of my ability, regardless of the circumstances. 

We have each other here for love and support. I love being a part of the teacher blogging world and am grateful to have learned, been inspired, and been touched by every single one of you.  Teaching is hard, but being able to come home at the end of the day and be inspired by you makes it that much easier and fun.  I can't thank you enough for sharing your ideas, lessons, and passion for teaching.   Love each of you!

A girl can always dream!

I think this is adorable!  I totally want to make it for my classroom. I get to shop at Hobby Lobby first! 

  I'll post a pic when I'm done...if I ever find my way out of Hobby Lobby.  I could live there!

What a fun way to practice multiplication, addition, or subtraction facts.  We totally use Jenga with our Primary kiddos in church.  I don't know how I didn't think to do this before.  And it's super easy to create.  Can't wait to play with my students!

Want to make something like this for my house.  We need a place for mail, magazine subscriptions, recipes, etc.  I'll have to start searching for the shutters.  Maybe Habitat for Humanities Restore will have it?  I'll have to take a trip this weekend...

Love the curtains and totally need something new for my master bedroom.  My color scheme is yellow and gray, but I love the nautical theme.  How adorable is the baby pic on the dresser.  I'm totally making that someday!

If I accomplish any of these projects this week (or month) I'm going to treat myself to some of these!  The Dating Divas have great ideas!

Currently September and a Freebie

Listening: Luke Bryan...how cute is he???

Loving: My husband is training for another five weeks, but he was able to come home this weekend for an interview. It was nice to spend some time together with our pups. 

Thinking:  I would teach year-round if I could have three day weekends. It actually allows for some time to relax and rejuvenate after cleaning the house, doing laundry, dishes, grading, grocery shopping, etc. I went up to Santa Fe to shop at Coach this morning with some friends....so much fun!

Wanting:  A new assisted living facility has just opened near my school.  I hope to start volunteering after school.  

Needing:  I decided to go to the Keith Urban and Jason Mraz concerts this week after school.  Well worth it, but I do have some catching up to do. 

Love: Spending time with my pups.  My pups, Marley, Abby, and Chloe are always at the door waiting for me when I get home. They love unconditionally and I think we could all learn from them.
