Christmas Crafts

I have parent conferences on Monday and Tuesday and then some time off for Thanksgiving.  My mind is already set on Christmas crafts for the home and classroom.  Here are some of my favorites from Pinterest.  Just click on the photo to go to the original source.

What are you doing?  Link up to share your favorite pics, crafts, and TPT lessons!

Snowman Ornament lightbulb agh it's so cute. There's lightbulb jars at Hobby Lobby that would be terrific for this! White Christmas Centerpiece christmas-decoration-ideas
I would try: Mini wooden letters, use the exact same idea, maybe add some cotton balls & felt for texture, hot glue a mini Santa hat on some of the more "edge-ier" letters, and use a satin or silk ribbon to hang up for decorating ;)

Teacher Winter Fashions with Warby Parker

If you don't know already, I LOVE clothes, jewelry, scarves, handbags, and all other accessories!  I just recently received an email from Warby Parker asking if I could do a blog post of Winter Fashions with their new Winter 2014 line.  I do have to say that I'm in no way being paid for this post.  I'm truly honored to have had this opportunity and had a blast putting these styles www.warbyparker.com/eyeglasses together.  Introducing the Winter Collection

What I love the most about Warby Parker is their Buy a Pair, Give a Pair concept.  You can read about that here.  They've donated over One Million Pairs of Glasses to people in need.

You can also click on the photo below to visit their blog.
Warby Parker x 826 is here

I absolutely fell in love with their Winter Line!  Take a look at their adorable Optical and Sunwear lines.

The clothing and accessories posted below are all Banana Republic (my favorite) and the make up is all MAC.

Be Kind and Biography Project Ideas

 World Kindness Day

Black History Month and Presidents' Day Biography Reports. February is a month filled with opportunities to both educate and celebrate. It’s also the perfect opportunity for teaching my 3rd graders how to research, take notes, and write a short report on the life and accomplishments of someone who has made a positive difference in the world.
Biography Bottle Book Report Projects: Using a large recycled water or soda bottle, have your students create projects based on the famous person that they read about. These three bottles are: Amelia Earhart, Cleopatra, and Marco Polo. Fun and creative!
Water Bottle Bios
Biography Bottles. Use a water bottle or a two liter soda bottle. Great idea for historical figures or book characters.  Biography Bottles! Simply have students fill an empty 2-liter bottle with either small rocks or sand. Then, have them choose a famous person to create using the bottle!! Super cute + super creative = SuCcESS in a Bottle!Biography Project: 2-liter bottle person "museum". Thought: Could be a good collaboration project between reading teacher and art teacher.

BIOBOXZ~ Biography Book Report Project and Kit
Faith Siegrist
Historical Figure / Literary Character Facebook Project - kids create a Facebook page for a famous person (scientist, historian, author) or character in a book they've read. Comes with blank template, an example page, and directions... I'm thinking this is a great substitute activity!
Hoots and Hollers
Biography Resources for Free! Anchor charts, book ideas, and graphic organizers for lesson design and assessments! Cool stuff!
3 Teacher Chicks

biography hangers (made of clothes hangers) - the kids might have to do a biography report one day.
Wax Museum & Biography Writing Project
Leslie's Locker

Biography Reports. Students create their person poster and then utilize it for their presentation. This engages students = multiple intelligences!

The Inspired Classroom
Biographies....written on the shape of something associated with that person. Genius.

Third Grade Pizza Box Biography Reading Response…Pinner wrote: I've used pizza boxes to make games before, but this is a terrific way to use them. If you go to your local pizza place you can often get them for free or for a very small price. When you say you are a teacher they usually sigh and just give them to you. : )
