Where the Heart Is

Download free from

Puerto Rico and Summer Template

Please visit my TPT store at http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Summer-Scrapbook-Template-747590 to buy the pre-made summer scrapbook that I made to create this Puerto Rico Scrapbook.  I just came back a few days ago, so this is just a start, but imagine what your students could do with this template.  It's a great way to start the year by having kiddos create a scrabook of their summer happenings.  They could add journal writes, captions, pictures, clip art, quotes, and so much more!

Here is a sneak peak of my vacation scrapbook...

Throwback Thursday Linky Party

Cara Carroll, from the First Grade Parade is doing a Throwback Thursday Linky Party.  She posted about a Brown Bag Book Club. I was planning on doing reading buddies with a friend of mine and we just decided to incorporate this as well.  What a great idea to get kiddos passionate about reading.  And who doesn't like popcorn?  Link up here to browse some other great ideas from amazing bloggers!

Math Workshop and Classroom Themes

I absolutely love this blog, so I have to share it with you!  She has so many great ideas about classroom organization, management, and money saving tips .  I want to do math workshops this year and she has great pics, rotation charts, and videos.  Her blog also includes theme ideas, creative lessons, and tons of freebies! Love it!

I think I change my mind daily about the theme I want to use in my classroom. Here's a pic of my latest garage sale find.  I think I paid $10 for all of it. Thinking it would be great for a Hollywood/Broadway theme. And I'm headed to NYC soon, so maybe that will be the theme this year.  I'm also thinking beach since I just came back from Puerto Rico.  I'll share those pics in my next post.  Promise!
